  CANTO III   Ante-Inferno
       
  Per me si va ne la citta' dolente, THROUGH ME ENTER INTO THE PAINFUL CITY, inscription over the entrace to hell
  per me si va ne l'etterno dolore, THROUGH ME ENTER INTO ETERNAL PAIN,  
  per me si va tra la perduta gente. THROUGH ME ENTER AMONG THE LOST.  
       
  Giustizia mosse il mio alto fattore: JUSTICE MOVED MY HIGH MAKER:  
  fecemi la divina podestate, I WAS CREATED BY DIVINE POWER,
